Dead Air Silencers Lazarus 6

“Overall, this is one of the best and most versatile hard-use suppressors I have ever used.”
Having used suppressors for 30-plus years now, they may be some of the industry’s most “design fluid” products. My first precision rifle suppressor was constructed mostly from stainless steel and weighed a whopping two pounds. Then came Titanium, which was half the weight but inherently louder. And, everything back then was backpressure intensive. Carbine cans were gas-making machines, heavy, and not suitable for barrels shorter than 14.5″. Everything was machined, but these days, much of the industry has moved to 3D printing. Testing early 3D printed versions, they were lighter and stronger, but expensive and lacked a “finished” appearance. Fast forward, and you can get a 3D-printed suppressor made of various materials, from super light to heavier versions, with no barrel restrictions. One of those, the Dead Air Lazarus 6 (6mm) — crafted from Haynes 282 super alloy — is light, full-auto rated, versatile, and has no barrel length restrictions.

Dead Air Lazarus 6 (6mm, 5.56mm) Suppressor
Using their Triskelion baffle system and 3D printing, the Lazarus employs a flow-through design that lowers backpressure and heat. This design produces a lower tone that maintains excellent sound suppression without the typical harmful combustion gasses affecting shooter comfort and rifle operation. Utilizing the HUB system, it is compatible with a number of mounting options. Measuring from 5.8″ to 6.4″, depending on the factory Dead Air mount you choose, it weighs in at 16.5 ounces. As a 6mm suppressor, it can be used with the 6mm ARC, which is growing in popularity, as well as other 6mm platforms — not to mention 5.56mm rifles. Aggressive grip features make it easy to attach and remove, and a removable front cap acts as a flash suppressor. All Dead Air “R” series front caps, including their E-Brake, can be used on the Lazarus. Truly versatile, it is a part of the next generation of rifle suppressors.

Range Time
Testing was completed primarily using a Brownells 13.9” BRN-180 upper in 5.56mm. The Lazarus 6 proved to be one of the least “gassy” suppressors I’ve used on this platform. The weight and length of the Lazarus 6 are very manageable, keeping the overall package handy. Not only did it run fantastic, but the brass ejection pattern was the best I’ve seen in quite a while. Sound levels were easily in the hearing-safe zone, and backpressure was negligible at most, making shooting enjoyable. Depending on the suppressor, the BRN-180 upper can be a tad erratic, but the Lazarus 6 actually smoothed it out and made it soft to shoot. Accuracy was unaffected, and the suppressor cools down very quickly after sustained fire. The provided mount was the Xeno, which keeps the overall length pretty short.

Overall, this is one of the best and most versatile hard-use suppressors I have ever used. Designed to be punished but not overly heavy, the modularity, cross-cartridge compatibility, and very low backpressure make the Lazarus 6 a winner in every category. We literally have no complaints. Sound suppression and backpressure levels have always been a balancing act, and Dead Air seems to have gotten the recipe just right with this suppressor. In fact, I liked Lazarus 6 so much that I ordered one for my personal use; the Form 4 is being processed as I write this. If you are looking for a hard-use, low-backpressure suppressor that is full-auto rated with no barrel restrictions, this one needs to be at the top of your list!
