Leupold DeltaPoint Micro

Leupold just announced its new DeltaPoint Micro, the company’s latest red dot sight. We’ve been following this product’s development for the last five years, have been playing with a pre-production model for a few months now, and the following is what we think so far. The DeltaPoint Micro ($399) sits so low to the bore, it co-witnesses with your factory front sight, which means those accustomed to iron sights will enjoy a seamless transition to the red dot life — welcome to the future.

The DP Micro features an enclosed emitter. This means no fogging or dot deformation due to moisture, dirt or debris. You’ll always have a crisp, visible dot each time you present your handgun. The sight weighs in just 1.1 ounces and fits into the rear sight dovetail of any Glock or S&W M&P pistol (two models exist). Installation is simple and doesn’t require aftermarket alterations to your pistol, specialized tools or accessories. The 3 MOA dot size is ideal for a pistol, and intensity adjustment can be done on the fly. Look for a full in-depth review in our next issue.
