Based on the selective-fire Bren 2, the new Bren 2 Ms Carbine from CZ ($1,999) operates via a short-stroke gas piston system with return spring contained within the action. With no buffer tube, it has a folding, adjustable stock with ribbed rubber butt pad. Overall length with stock extended is 35.6 inches; 28 inches with the stock folded. Chambered in .223 Rem./5.56 NATO, it features an aluminum upper receiver, carbon-fiber composite lower receiver, ambidextrous AR-style bolt catch/release system with another bolt release in the front of the trigger guard, ambidextrous safety and magazine release, 16.5-inch cold hammer forged barrel with prong flash hider, non-reciprocating charging handle that stows in the forward position until needed and is swappable from side to side and a 30-round magazine.
