CMMG Banshee 300 Series Pistol

Other Thoughts

The best 5-shot group at 25-yards came with Barnes’ 115-gr. +P TAC-XPD, measuring out at 0.95”. Best groups with all ammo measured an inch and a quarter or less.

Subsonics were quiet suppressed or not, the +P loads not so much. They are pretty loud, but that’s the crack of the bullet, and it comes with the territory. Recoil was noticeable with Black Hills’ +P loads. Barnes 115-gr. +P was not nearly as stout nor was the 135-gr. Hornady Critical Duty.

Trijicon’s MWS RMR has a clear dot and at 3.5 MOA is suited to closer work. It is about as rugged as these sights get. In automatic mode it changes intensity to match ambient light, and manual adjustments can be used if necessary. Battery life is measured in years.

Thanks in part to the radial-blowback operation, recoil was mild and reliability 100-percent. The Banshee 300 Series 9mm currently represents the highest level of innovation in an AR pistol-caliber carbine (or in this case, pistol-caliber pistol).
