Kimber’s new Micro 9 Pistols

Offered in three models—the Micro 9 KHX ($815), Micro 9 ESV Black ($799) and Micro 9 ESV Gray ($799)—these bob-tailed, SAO minis are chambered in 9mm with 6+1 round capacity, and were designed specifically for discrete concealed carry. They vary only in checkering patterns, slide cuts, grips and and finish colors, with other features being common. Height is a mere 4.0 inches, overall length is 6.1 inches, width in 1.08 inches and weight is a svelte 15.35 oz. empty with magazine (15.6 for the KHX). The frame is machined from aero-space grade aluminum, with the slide machined from stainless steel. KHX sights consist of fixed fiber optics (2-dot green rear/single-dot red front), while the ESVs feature fixed 3-dot nights sights. All have a 3.15-inch, match-grade stainless steel barrels, coated in Titanium nitride. The KHX features hexagonal checkering in lieu of slide serrations, while the ESVs have three slanted lightening cuts at the front of the slide and rear slide serrations. 1911-style grip safeties are absent, but the balance of the controls are otherwise similar. Kimpro II finishes in Black (ESV Black) or Gray (KHX and ESV Gray) are standard fare. The ESVs have black Altamont G10 checkered grip panels, while the KHX comes with camo Hogue G10 grip panels partially checkered and partially cut in the slide’s hexagonal pattern. Slick little guns at a reasonable price. Contact Kimber Manufacturing; Tel.: (888) 243-4522; Web: www.kimberamerica.com
