SIG SAUER ASP20 Break-Action Air Rifle

SIG SAUER’s new ASP20 Break-Action Air Rifle—chambered in .177 and .22 caliber—is priced from $399.99 with synthetic stock to $489.99 with wood stock. Basically the same rifle except for caliber and stock, they’re built in Newington, New Hampshire. Foot-pounds of muzzle energy is a more accurate gauge of the power of air rifles than muzzle velocity. Accuracy and retained energy are better with heavier projectiles at subsonic speeds, rather than light projectiles at supersonic speeds. The .22 caliber suppressed Advanced Sport Pellet (ASP) rifle delivers down-range power and accuracy with the lightest cocking effort in its class, making it ideal for hunting small to medium game. The .177 caliber suppressed ASP delivers superior down-range power and accuracy, also with the lightest cocking effort in its class. Both feature advanced gas-piston operating systems, adjustable triggers (2.5- to 4.0 lbs.), and Picatinny top rails for optics. The .22 caliber model drives a 14.65-gr. pellet to 841 f.p.s., while the .177 caliber model drives an 8.64-gr. pellet to 1,021 f.p.s. Contact SIG SAUER, Dept.
