Tipping the scales at only half an ounce with battery and mounting hardware, the new Spartan weapon laser from LaserMax won’t weigh you down. Designed to fit even micro-size auto pistols, it’s also really small (1.75” L x 1.0” W x 1.0” H). But don’t let it’s diminutive proportions fool you. The Spartan’s rugged polymer case houses a full powered (5mW) laser with programmable pulse/no pulse operation. Best of all, it’s Rail Vise mounting technology is designed to be adjustable to obtain the perfect for all hand sizes on compact to full-size handguns with Pictatinny- or Weaver-pattern rails. The Spartan also has its own 3-slot accessory rail on the bottom side for mounting a tactical light, and is available with your choice of a red ($99, tested) or green ($149) laser module.
The laser is operated by oversized, ambidextrous, side-mounted touch pads—simply press lightly on either pad to turn the laser on or off. After the Spartan is mounted, the laser can be easily adjusted for both windage and elevation, and it will hold its point of impact through thousands of rounds of live fire. Power is provided by a single 3N battery (included), with a constant-on battery life of more than four hours. Battery power is conserved by an auto shut-off that turns the laser off after ten minutes. And it’s backed by a 5-year warranty. Contact LaserMax; Tel.: (800) 527-3703; Web: www.lasermax.com
