The new 4-in-1 Survival Pen from Browning ($22) is a flashlight, a cap light, a glass breaker and a ball point pen. Powered by four LR-41 batteries, it single 5mm Nichia white LED bulb puts out a 12-lumen, spot-type beam on the high power setting that creates an effective illumination distance of 22 yards. Battery life is 8 hours on high. Made from black anodized aluminum, it measures 5.1 inches long and weighs less than an ounce with batteries installed. Its twist-type switch is water resistant and operates the light and the deploys the pen. A long spring pocket clip doubles as a visor clip, permitting you to wear it on a ball cap for hands-free use.
