‘Lil Backcountry Buddy
North American Arms (NAA) is a firearms company that goes small. They currently catalog 67 handguns—eight of which are semi-auto pistols, with the balance being single-action mini revolvers—all of which are very small and very concealable.
One of the prices you pay for mini revolvers is that they are chambered for minimalist cartridges, of which they hold comparatively few. Available chamberings include .22 Short, .22 LR and .22 Magnum, all with 5-round cylinders. Al 59 models model is machined from stainless steel, and some come with both .22 LR and .22 Mag. cylinders. Barrel lengths range from 1 to 6 inches.
Our evaluation revolver was the 1-inch barreled Sidewinder with both .22 Mag. and .22 Long Rifle cylinders ($419, with locking metal case). It’s also available with just a 22 Mag. cylinder ($349).
